New library and a big step in the development of our kindergarten

For several years now, Window of Life has been running its own kindergarten for our beneficiaries and children from the surrounding area. This project has been important to us from the very beginning, and we can see how much it has brought since it started operating.

At the beginning of this year, with the visit of a group of volunteers from Poland and Germany, important changes took place in our kindergarten that have taken it to a new level. The room where the kindergarten classes are held has undergone a significant transformation: new furniture was purchased; maps of Uganda and the world were hung on the walls; and it was equipped with numerous, mostly hand-made, teaching aids. A new teacher has also joined the Window of Life team in Masindi – her energy, education, and skills are extremely valuable to everyone. We are very pleased and reassured, knowing that our preschoolers are in very good hands.

Additionally, right next to the kindergarten, in a connected room, we managed to realize something we had been dreaming about for a long time: our small, modest, but very own library with a reading room. Thanks to the dedication of the kindergarten teacher and the volunteers, and books purchased locally and brought by volunteers, we have created a space where older children and youth can choose from among several dozen books of various genres and quietly enjoy reading. We wanted the library to have something for everyone, so it includes children’s books, atlases, non-fiction titles, fantasy, African literature, and European classics. We are very grateful to everyone who made this possible!
