Volunteering

Our stay in Masindi was short but very intense. It is an incredible place filled with positive energy. The Aunties have created a home-like environment for the children, a loving family that we were fortunate to become a part of.
I traveled to Masindi with mixed feelings, wondering if a short, one-month stay would truly make a difference. Now, I have no doubt—it was a wonderful decision.
My stay in Masindi was my first encounter with Africa, making it an incredibly powerful experience.
My time at Window of Life was wonderful! Simply being there, playing with the children, and taking part in their daily lives was a true pleasure. It is an unforgettable memory. Thank you so much, and I wish you all the best!
At the beginning of 2017, I spent a month at Window of Life in Uganda. The decision to volunteer was made spontaneously after a conversation with Hania, who told me about her plans to travel to Masindi.
July and August 2016 were our time at Window of Life—the fulfillment of our dream to volunteer in Africa. A specific place, with specific people. Uganda. Babies Home. Window of Life.
[April 20, 2016] A few months of reflection, another few of preparation, a pinch of madness, and a desire to experience adventure. Smiles of fate and coincidences led me to walk through the gates of the Window of Life Babies Home in Masindi on September 15, 2015. If anyone asked me how the welcome went, I would say quickly and without unnecessary ceremonies. A backpack thrown somewhere on the ground under a tree, a chorus of children’s voices, and a forest of hands, a multitude of hugs. And then, ordinary and extraordinary life.
At the turn of February and March 2016, I flew to Uganda as a volunteer to work with children at the Babies Home in Masindi. Being with them gave me unprecedented joy and energy to act.
